(December 6, 2005) The Sherman Oaks River Rats have locked up the second playoff spot in the Jedi Conference. The River Rats can also win the 2005 Jedi Conference regular season title by winning in Week 14 and having the Chapel Hillbillies lose or tie... only 3 points separates the two team’s season points for totals. In the Empire Conference, the Raleigh Roughhousers can claim both a playoff spot and the 2005 Empire Conference regular season title by defeating the Serbian Serial Killers in Week 14. The Raleigh Roughhousers have won 8 games in a row, no jinx intended. If the Serbians win they will also claim a playoff spot and the 2005 Empire Conference regular season title. The Boomer Sooners will clinch a playoff birth by defeating the Frognation Imposters in Week 14, unless the Raleigh Roughhousers lose to the Serbians and still outscore the Sooners by 32 points. If both the Sooners and Roughhousers win in Week 14 we will have the first ever father/son playoff game in league history... hopefully more will come in the decades ahead. The Death Row Models and Piscataway Playaz have clinched the bottom spot in their respective conferences and will own the first draft positions in each round of the 2006 PFL Conference Drafts. (November 11,
2005) Longtime PFL rivals Raleigh Roughhousers
and JoJo's Untouchables
are set to clash in Week 10, in what
will be the first meaningful game for both sides this late in a PFL
season in quite a few years. Normally Raleigh is busy vying for the #1
overall pick by Week 10 each year, but with Raleigh (5-4) and the
Untouchables (5-3-1) both in the thick of the Empire Conference
playoff race, Portman Stadium is sure to be "SRO" this Sunday
afternoon. When asked how he feels about his team's chances this Sunday, Raleigh GM Mick Lendach said, "Well, the rivalry has been a bit one-sided recently, with JoJo winning the last 74 meetings. But our club has been working hard all year and we are playing our best football right now. We like our chances to break through this weekend." Lendach went on to comment that the Untouchables are competitive every year due primarily to the stellar team management of Mr. Gonzalez and Mr. Portman. When informed that "Mr. Portman" is not the team's co-GM and is in reality a male cat, Lendach responded: "Uh, yeah. And I'm a f----- golden retriever. Where do you people get this crap?" Stay tuned to the PFL website to follow all the PFL Week 10 action and voice your opinion on who will win this in this critical matchup in the PFL BLOG. |

| (October
13, 2005) Coming into the 2005 PFL Season the Chapel
Hillbillies, under the guidance of owner and GM Fred Maske,
had only won 24 of their first 71 games in franchise history.
Five games into the 2005, however, the Hillbillies are yet to be
defeated. The big question around the league, right now, is are
the Hillbillies for real or are they a paper tiger? A quick look at league statistics shows that the Hillbillies only have 1 player (Steve Smith) in the Top 15 of Touchdown Scorers amongst all running-backs and wide-receivers, and only 2 players, with the addition of Willis McGahee, in the Top 30 of Touchdown Scorers amongst all running-backs and wide-receivers in the league. With nine games still to be played in the 2005 PFL Regular Season anything can happen... what two teams from each conference do you think will qualify for the 2005 PFL Playoffs? | (September
20, 2005) After 10 seasons, it seems that the highest ever
level of team parity has taken hold in the PFL. After the first
two games of the 2005 season, only three teams (JoJo's Untouchables,
San Juan Chupacabras, and Chapel Hillbillies) are
undefeated and two of those (the Chupacabras and Hillbillies) tied
their heads-up meeting. Never before in league history has there
been less than two 2-0 teams heading into the third week of the
season. Another league first... the Serbian Serial Killers are 0-2, but have lost their first two games by a grand total of two points... losing 19-18 to Frognation in Week #1 and 38-37 to the Sooners in Week #2. In both games the Serbians got less points from their place kicker... the difference between 0-2 and 2-0. |

| (December 27, 2004) As Frognation Imposters owner Bret Devich hoisted the Hoskins Trophy high up in the sky Greek Godfathers owner Gus Kotsianas was laying low in the dumps wondering for the second time 'what could have been?' "It was there for the taking," Kotsianas told reporters... "It was there like candy in my girlfriends hand." When asked about his teams insufficient 15 point output Kotsianas stated that "there will be major changes this offseason. I'm gonna sit down with the coach, the GM and our draft scout and together we'll make sure the Godfathers are ready to win in '05. People are losing their cushy jobs this time!" When reminded by one of his cheerleaders that he is the Godfathers coach, GM and draft scout, Kotsianas smiled and, after an extended pause, said, "Oh, yeh. Right. You almost had me there for a second." | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

their starting lineups. Whether to interpret it as
gamesmanship or indecision depends on who you're talking to, but the

| (October
23, 2004) The annual pre-contract week trading bonanza has
begun with the Valhalla Victimizers and Piscataway Playaz
inking a blockbuster trade designed to fill holes in each teams
offense. After considering offers for Randy Moss from
three separate Jedi Conference teams, the Playaz finally sent him,
and their Sixth Round Draft Choice in the 2005 Jedi Conference
Draft, to the Valhalla Victimizers in return for Chris Brown
and their Second Round Draft Choice in 2005.
"We have Marvin Harrison at wide-receiver and now Chris Brown will give us the young stud at running-back we've been needing," said Playaz owner Ron "Snoop" Sarnecky. Victimizer owner Matt Lendach said, "I didn't want to trade Chris Brown, but we have Priest Holmes at running-back and some other guys that have been running well, so I felt I needed to pull the trigger and bring in the star wide-receiver we haven't had since trading Terrell Owens." Initial analysis in the press rates the trade a push, with both team getting help at their weak positions. In another big trade, the Chapel Hillbillies traded Roy Williams (WR--Detroit), Larry Fitzgerald (WR--Arizona) and Lee Suggs (RB--Cleveland) to the Jacksonville Juice for Charles Rogers (WR--Detroit), Anquan Boldin (WR--Arizona) and Hines Ward (WR--Pittsburgh). This sizeable deal sees new contracts and reshaped rosters coming to North Carolina and Florida in time for the playoff run. Certainly more trade talks will follow in the days remaining before teams must declared their player contracts, including a two-year, two one-year contracts and a possible rookie contract. |

With the 2004 regular season more than a third of the way thru, some
big questions need to be answered:
1) Will the Greek Godfathers hold on in
the Jedi Conference for a playoff spot? Only time will give the answers to these questions... |

| (September 15, 2004)
The Raleigh Roughhousers may start forfeiting their
traditional opening game against JoJo's Untouchables, because
they're 0-5-1 in their last six openers against Jorge Gonzalez'
squad and this year the price was even higher than just another
notch in the loss column. The Roughhousers lost #1
wide-receiver Steve Smith late in the game and in an act of
questionable heart, cut him before anyone's well-wishing flowers
could even reach the hospital.
Elsewhere in the PFL, the Serbian Serial Killers tied a PFL record by winning their 10th consecutive game going back to their last loss in Week 7 of the 2003 season. Their loss to the Serbians puts added pressure on the Frognation Imposters in Week #2 as they travel to face the Untouchables, who may be their main opponent for a playoff spot. All analysts project the Serial Killers as the Conference Champs, thus making the Empire conference a five team race for one playoff spot. They're still 13 weeks to go, but it doesn't take long to get on the hot seat in the PFL. |

logos. The Jacksonville Juice of Mike Malandrucco,
the Death Row Models of John Mead and the Boomer
Sooners of Peter Lendach were unveiled at the annual PFL
Fashion Show in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The helmet reviews were raves, especially from Frognation Imposter owner Bret Devich who stated, "I've never seen such a hot show. The goods were tremendous... especially the ones on that Tatiana babe. Do you have her number?" Check out all the PFL helmets on the League Teams & Owners page. |
